Bioinformatics Research Guide: Background Information

Background Information

What is background information? As a student you might not understand fully the topic that is assigned to you. In such circumstances it is incumbent upon you to learn something about the topic before beginning research. From the reader's perspective when you are writing on your topic, the reader understands the topic and trusts the work. For example every discipline has its on jargon. So it becomes necessary for you to define certain key elements in your work.

Background information can be in multiple formats : Books, Encyclopedias, Review Articles and Glossaries for definitions. A good place to start might be to use a Blog.
