STEPS: Select a topic. Nurse Theorists

The first task is to identify the keywords. This one is simple only one concept right?

Nurse Theorists

The hard part is to convert these keywords into concepts or subjects to search in Databases.

Today, I will concentrate on databases CINAHL. For more advanced searching please fix an appointment for a Zoom session.

Below are some techniques to do searches.

Boolean searching. It is just a way of combining our keywords in a meaningful way to get the most relevant records in a database search using 3 connectors:

OR     is for synonyms or related terms. What other terms can you use for Nurse theorists?

AND  is when you want the terms as a phrase preferably in the titles, abstract or subject term fields.

NOT  is when you want to exclude a term that appears in your search set.

For more advanced searching please fix an appointment for a Zoom session.
