Library Orientation: Tour the Benedictine Library

Lisle Campus Library

Message from the Interim University Librarian

Luann DeGreve

I would like to take a moment to welcome everyone to the library whether you are visiting us virtually through our webpage or in person on our Lisle or Mesa campuses. We are happy to assist you with your study and research needs.

The library is an important academic space on campus. We need to be mindful of each other's needs as we work and study in this space. Many students need to have a quiet space without many distractions to do their best work. The library needs to be that place on campus. We encourage visitors to find other places on campus to socialize. If anyone needs help finding those places, please ask us.

As you visit the library, you will see some changes this year. Updates to whiteboards and lighting are happening in the Lisle physical space. Seating is reduced in some areas for continued social distancing. A favorite book may no longer be on the shelf where it was last year. We have undertaken a three-year project to reclassify all our materials from the Dewey Decimal System to the Library of Congress Classification System. You can read more about that project here.

We are happy to see everyone back on campus this year. If you have any questions, please reach out to us. We are here to help you succeed. You can find all our contact information here.

Have a terrific year!
