Library Instruction for Online Classes

We offer Basic and Advanced library instruction for online classes. For more information, please see our Instruction page.

Library Persistent Links

Off-campus access to subscription databases requires authentication through a proxy. Simply copying the URL from the address bar may not work for your students. You will need to use a proxied persistent link that will ask students to log in if they're off-campus. To generate persistent links to articles, eBooks, and streaming videos, use our Persistent Links Guide.

IMPORTANT! If you insert proxied persistent links in D2L via the Insert Quicklink button, they will NOT work. Use the Insert Stuff button instead. For step-by-step instructions, watch the short video below.

DIY Captioning

The 30-min. webinar recording below is from November 2017. It covers captioning videos privately in YouTube and then exporting the captions that you can then load into your video platform, such as D2L Capture Central. The webinar covers multiple methods, so if you're primarily interested in editing YouTube's automatic captions, skip ahead to minute 17:30.
