In August 2019, Governor Pritzker declared April as Illinois Sikh awareness and appreciation month.
Sikhism is the 5th largest religion in the world after Christianity, Islam, Hinduism & Buddhism, although not many people know about it. With over 30M Sikhs worldwide and, 500,000 in the US, 25,000 Sikhs call the State of Illinois their home.
