Benedictine Library History: Benedictine Library, Kindlon Hall, 2012 - 2022

2012 Remodel

In the summer of 2012, the Benedictine Library vacated the 4th and 5th floors to make way for a new university chapel and art gallery.  The physical collection was moved to the lower level of Kindlon Hall.  The 2nd and 3rd floors were dedicated to study space and librarian service points and offices.

That summer, the  library staff worked from 2 classrooms on the first floor of Kindlon Hall.

At the end of the summer, University Ministry Director Mark Kurowski, Library Director Jack Fritts, University President Bill Carroll, and St. Procopius Abbey Abbot Austin Murphy officially opened the new library space.

2012-2022

In the summer of 2012, the Library collection was moved to the lower level of Kindlon Hall, with services and study areas available on the second and third floors.  The fourth floor became the Chapel and Campus Ministry headquarters and the fifth floor primarily the Art Gallery.
