The LGBT Catholic community in Chicago has been gathering for Mass since 1971 when Mary Houlihan of the Legion of Mary first began hosting Masses in her home. The call of faith to provide a welcoming place for LGBT Catholics, often marginalized within our church, has been strong and many people have and continue to minister to the community.

PFLAG is a national non-profit organization with over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters. Founded in 1972 with the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son, PFLAG is the nation's largest LGBTQ+ family and ally organization. PFLAG is committed to advancing equality and achieving full societal affirmation of LGBTQ people through its threefold mission of support, education, and advocacy.
"Established in 1998, Youth Outlook is the first and longest-running social service agency in Illinois solely dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth. We work in seven counties in northern Illinois, offering drop-in centers for youth, caregiver, and parent support, plus community education and professional development."
