LGBTQ+ Resources for BenU: Home

This is a guide to give Benedictine students, staff, and faculty resources on LGBTQ+ organizations, clubs, and online support services in both Lisle and Mesa.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Benedictine University LGBTQ+ Resource Guide! Here you will find a variety of resources that support and inform anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ in both the Chicagoland area of Illinois and Mesa, Arizona. As an inclusive Catholic and Benedictine institution of higher education, we seek to provide transformative educational experiences for all students and an empowering environment for employees at all levels. We affirm our support for every member of our community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other gender-nonconforming (LGBTQ+) individuals. Drawing from the riches of the Catholic intellectual tradition and the Benedictine spiritual heritage, we welcome LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and alumni as full partners in our project of teaching, learning, scholarship, and service.

Whether you identify as LGBTQ+, love someone who is, or just need a few good local resources, we have you covered. If you have any updates, suggestions, or feedback for this resource guide, please contact us at libref@ben.edu or contact the Safe Space Allies Committee Chair, Marc Davidson at mdavidson@ben.edu.
