Here you will find library resources for research in Biochemistry.

Definition of Biochemistry: Biochemistry is the study of chemical processes in a living organism. It involves the study of chemical reactions/processes that take place at the cellular level. It is therefore closely related to Molecular Biology and Cell Biology.

The principal types of biological molecules or biomolecules are: carbohydrateslipidsproteins and nucleic acids, and much of biochemistry deals with the structures, functions, and interactions of these four biological macromolecules.

The types of chemical reactions that occur are also four - oxidation-reduction, hydrolysis, condensation and neutralization.
