These are links to the major official sources of federal primary authority on the web.

  • USA.gov:  The U.S. Government's Official Web Portal
    Whatever you want or need from the U.S. government, it's on USA.gov. You'll find a rich treasure of online information, services, and resources, including access to government information by topic.
  • Congress.gov
    Legislative information including roll call, committees, bill activity, legislative history and more from the Library of Congress
  • The White House
    Executive branch resources, including executive orders
  • U.S. Courts
    Maintained by the Administrative Office of the US Courts, this site provides a comprehensive list of US Federal Courts, including the Supreme Court, Courts of Appeals, District Courts, and Bankruptcy Courts.
  • Supreme Court of the United States
    Includes calendars, opinions and orders, merits briefs and court rules.
  • United States Code  
    The United States Code is the codification by subject matter of the general and permanent laws of the United States. It is divided by broad subjects into 50 titles and published by the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives. Since 1926, the United States Code has been published every six years. In between editions, annual cumulative supplements are published in order to present the most current information.
  • Electronic Code of Federal Regulations
    The Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (e-CFR) is a currently updated version of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). It is not an official legal edition of the CFR. The e-CFR is an editorial compilation of CFR material and Federal Register amendments produced by the National Archives and Records Administration's Office of the Federal Register (OFR) and the Government Printing Office.
