This Cornell University guide lists online and print sources for what has become known as the "Arab Spring," the popular revolutionary wave in the Middle East and North Africa that started in December 2010.

From the very first day of the 2011 uprisings in Egypt that toppled president Mubarak, archiving played a central role. During the 18 days of the revolution in Tahrir square, photographing was an act of seeing and recording. Almost simultaneously, because a photograph is intrinsically an archival document, this act of resistance turned into act of archiving history as it unfolded.

On February 2 and 3, 2011, pro-Mubarak supporters attacked thousands of protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square. For nearly 18 hours straight, I live-tweeted over 1,000 eyewitness reports I collected from my sources participating in the battle. This is an account of how it happened.

Thousands marched on the Egyptian parliament Monday, denouncing the army's crackdown on revolutionaries in front of the Ministry of Defense in Abbassiya.
