General Education Curriculum: Advising Help

General Education Requirements for all regular undergraduate students

  • Basic Skills courses (4-specified)
  • Distribution courses (10 total, with 1 from each disciplinary area)
  • One Interdisciplinary Seminar (IDS) 2000-level course
  • One Interdisciplinary Seminar (IDS) 3000-level course
  • Three Writing Intensive courses (generally, one IDS 2000 level, one Writing Intensive course in the major, and one additional Writing Intensive course)
  • Courses or experiences designated Global, Sustainable, Engaged Learning (EL)/Learning Community (LCOM)

For transfer reports pertaining to a specific advisee: in PeopleSoft, go to the student’s advising record (under My Advisees, View Student Details link). In the main Student Center Page, under the Advising section go to the drop-down menu labeled “other academic” and select Transfer Credit: Report. Click the right-pointing arrow button to the right of the drop-down menu, and the Transfer Report for the student should display, including all posted transfer courses and their Benedictine equivalents.
